Lemont Furnace, PA- The Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions played host to visiting Penn State Beaver this past Saturday afternoon. The Fayette and Beaver came into the game as two evenly matched teams and absolutely played the game just as such. The Roaring Lions played a dominant first half and were able to take a lead into the half with a score of 51-40. After the half had ended Penn State Beaver was able to make a strong charge and close the gap, but in the end Fayette was able to keep control and finish the game. The final score from Saturday's contest was 86-81 in favor of Penn State Fayette.
Penn State Fayette was led by London Hoxie who accounted for 26 points and 4 rebounds. Other highlighted players for Fayette included Iman Young with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Marvin Sidon was also a large contributor with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Penn State Beaver was led by Eric Gallupe who was able to come off the bench to score an astounding 34 points in the contest. Other highlighted players for Beaver were Andrew Brady with 16 points and 9 rebounds and DJ Austin with 12 points and 5 rebounds.
Men's basketball will be back in action February 9th as Fayette travels to Penn State New Kennsington for a 7pm tipoff.
